St Piran’s Day

St Piran is one of the patron saints of Cornwall and the patron saint of tinminers. Originally a holiday for tin miners, St Piran’s Day is now celebrated all over Cornwall with parades, performances and processions. There have been many petitions to make St Piran’s Day a bank holiday in Cornwall, but so far, they have been largely unsuccessful.
