The Green Team visit Newquay Zoo

It was a beautiful sunny day today and some of the “Green Team” were lucky enough to visit Newquay Zoo, all in the name of Sustainability knowledge sharing.

The day began with a talk from Ruth Grant, Environmental Officer at Newquay Zoo. Ruth explained the importance of making the zoo sustainable and the challenges she faces.

After hearing from the keepers and the education and maintenance teams – it was time to feed the meerkats and head to the cafe for lunch. Thank you to everybody at Newquay Zoo for a lovely morning. Everybody learnt a lot!

This was an annual trip for our Green Team to thank them for their work at Watergate Bay as they volunteer their time to not only meet once a month, but then go back and communicate to all staff in their departments how to be more green and bring information back to the sustainability manager Amy Hurst.
