With only seven sleeps until Christmas leave Christmas shopping behind and get crafty! Home made presents are perfect for family and friends or as last minute stocking fillers.

Bake your favourite biscuits, cut into Christmassy shapes and decorate with icing and edible glitter. It will get you in the Christmas spirit and make your house smell delicious!

Chocolate truffles are a great gift.  Use equal measures of chocolate and double cream, heat the cream gently and melt the chocolate. Slowly add the cream to the melted chocolate and mix well. Leave to cool and shape into small balls. Decorate with cocoa powder, melted chocolate or chopped nuts; you can even flavour them with your favourite liquor.

Spiced nuts also go down well as a festive treat. Choose your favourite selection of nuts, mix with some sunflower oil, a little mixed spice and ground cinnamon (and/or your favourite Christmas spice), drizzle with some honey and bake on a low heat for 10 minutes. Shake the tray and drizzle with some more honey and bake for another 10 minutes.

Old jars can be transformed with some festive ribbon and a gift label and filled with the treats you have baked. Just try not to eat them before Christmas Day.

And finally, don’t throw away old Christmas cards, you can always pick up some pinking shears and crop the front of the card to make a nifty gift tag for next year.

If you are still stuck for Christmas ideas why not try a Watergate Bay gift voucher, perfect for anyone who loves Watergate Bay. They can be used for a stay in the hotel, in any of our restaurants, at Swim Club or the Extreme Academy.

Did you know? On average you spend a total of 2 hours and 27 minutes wrapping presents!
