Kids’ Zone

School’s out for summer and the kids are looking for something to do. The Kids’ Zone at Watergate Bay Hotel has something for children of all ages providing a fun environment for meeting new friends and having a great time. It’s open from 8am – 9.30pm every day and offers a range of exciting and educational activities.

Kids’ Zone has a play room and an art room with indoor toys, themed activities, games and children’s books. There is also a cosy and comfortable ‘quiet’ area for reading during the day and for films and stories during the evening supervision session. Adjacent to this is our outdoor play area, perfect for climbing, hiding and exploring. There is also plenty of space to play with bikes and outdoor toys.

Next to the Kids’ Zone there is a spacious games room for older children which is open every day and is home to table tennis and table football. There is controlled internet access, and PlayStation, X-Box 360º and Wii consoles are available with a wide selection of games to choose from. In the evening during school holidays it is home to the XA club. Evening supervision is the XA club is for 7-12 year olds and is between 6:30pm – 9:30pm during school holidays.

We often have visiting entertainers for family entertainment; this includes cookery sessions, graffiti art, music, film making or even circus skills. These sessions take place a couple of evenings each week during school holidays between 5:30- 6:30. Parents do need to supervise their children during these sessions.

During school holidays supervised sessions run from 10am – 12noon, for 3-7 year olds, and 6.30pm – 9.30pm each day. These are closed sessions which must be booked in advance if your child wants to attend, priority does go to residents of the hotel, but if there is space non-residents may enrol their child at a cost of £21 or £7 p/hr. Within these sessions, children are engaged in lots of fun activities including painting, story telling and rockpooling on the beach.

Rock-pooling

At all other times, when Kids’ Zone isn’t supervised, it is open to anyone. Both residents and non-residents can use Kids’ Zone facilities as long as their child is supervised at all times by an adult.

All our staff are CRB checked and qualified Playwork Practitioners.
