Our five favourite desserts

Today is National Dessert day, a day filled with delicious treats. It’s time to forget the healthy eating and indulge in your favourite pudding; today you really can have your cake and eat it too.

We have compiled our five favourite dessert recipes for you to make today, and tomorrow and the next day. All of these desserts can be found in either The Beach Hut, Living Space or dining room of Watergate Bay Hotel where our chefs are constantly hard at work coming up with new recipes and dishes for you to enjoy.

1: Tarte fine

A thin tarte of puff pastry, almond frangipane and thinly sliced apples, glazed in butter and served with clotted cream or ice cream.

2: Strawberry cheesecake in a jar

Our deconstructed cheesecake is guaranteed crowd pleaser. The beauty of this dish is that it is simple, easy and delicious!

3: Summer pdding with Rodda’s clotted cream

Ignore the word ‘summer’ and turn this dish into an autumnal pudding by using seasonal fruits such as plums.

4: Bubble-nuts

We served these delectable doughnuts at Polo on the Beach 2013. Being bite-sized they are great for parties and get-togethers.

5: Chocolate and mango pudding

Break into the chocolate sponge and let the mango lava pour out. Serve this pudding warm with Cornish vanilla or chocolate ice cream.
