Everything you need to know about Boardmasters 2014

With only one month to go until Boardmasters returns to the North Cornwall coast the excitement is mounting. Headline acts Chase & Status, Snoop Dogg and Bastille will take to the main stage at Watergate Bay over the weekend of 7-10 August.

We’ve already ran you through the line-up on the main stage, but away from the main stage there is so much going on!

Watergate Bay

Hosting the majority of music acts, Watergate Bay is the main music arena for the Boardmasters weekend. We’re going to run you through each stage bar the main stage.

Unleashed

Unleashed

To the right of the main stage (as you look at the map) is the Unleashed tent. Bass warriors listen up! The Unleashed stage is the place to go to lose yourself in some heavy beats. This year sees Duke Dumont, Shy FX and Wilkinson take to the stage.

Mavericks
Directly opposite the Main Stage is the Mavericks Tent. As the name suggest, things can get pretty heavy at Mavericks! It’s the place to be if you’re up for a hefty serving of indie and alt rock bands. Reel Big Fish take the headlining spot with Palma Violets, Big Deal and Dead Kennedys also playing.

Keg & Pasty
Keg & Pasty, est’d in the early 1300′s, is a classic Cornish pub which has seen all sorts at Watergate Bay. Pull up a barrel in the same beer garden that pirates, smugglers, miners and surfers have made their second home for hundreds of years. The Keg is right at the centre of all things pub banter and stand-up comedy at Boardmasters.

The View
It wouldn’t be Boardmasters without The View. Lean back on a hay bail and take in the acoustic sounds against the sweetest backdrop in Britain; stare out over the Atlantic, watch the waves and relax. Scott Matthews, Emily & The Woods and John J Presley are just a few of the names taking to The View.

The Point

The-Point

Bringing you chilled beats during the day and taking it up a few gears by night, The Point is one of the most popular stages at Boardmasters. Ben Pearce takes top billing but other acts such DJ Ez Roska, Blonde and Billon will be hitting the decks.

Elsewhere on the Watergate Bay site.
Fair ground rides, shops, food vans, creature comforts, phone charging and even massages are available throughout the weekend.

WGB

Fistral.

As if all of that wasn’t enough there is a whole host of surf action happening over at Fistral, the home of British surfing.

Skate & BMX

BMX

According to Boardmasters, skating only exists because surfers couldn’t live without board riding when the waves were down. And BMXers are just gnarly. Skate and BMX competitions will take place throughout the week on purpose-built ramps on the edge of Fistral. Come down and get behind the UK’s best as they carve the wooden waves.
