Named after the square, rocky outcrop at the south end of the beach between Watergate Bay and Whipsiderry, comes Zacry’s – the new restaurant at Watergate Bay Hotel.

The interior style blends Cornish attitude with the features of a classic brasserie, while the food draws on international influences, local inspiration and executive chef Neil Haydock’s passion for contemporary American cuisine. Provenance is important at Zacry’s and Neil’s relationship with his suppliers means he always knows where the food he serves comes from.

The seasonal menu showcases Neil’s love of both classical and contemporary dishes, grilled meat and seafood all feature large. And, thanks to the new indoor charcoal oven at the heart of the open kitchen, flavours are big, bold and distinctive. You can expect dishes like Steak Tartare, duck and beet salad, grilled lobster and Côte de Boeuf. Where sauces do appear on the menu, they are finished at the table.

Zigzagging through the space are tan leather banquettes and zinc-wrapped refectory tables on oak and tiled chevron floors. Large tables share the space with smaller booths, making a more intimate experience. A private dining room provides almost complete seclusion. While at the other end, a step down from the main dining area, it’s a lighter, brighter space with floor to ceiling windows and access to the decked terrace.

There’s camaraderie here around food, which brings a unique energy and buzz with a warm and convivial atmosphere. A community. Somewhere to unwind. But Zacry’s is not just a place to eat. It’s about the notion of sharing; food, good company and moments that bring people together.

Reservations can be made by calling 01637 861231, at the hotel reception, or by completing our booking enquiry form. We currently take reservations a week in advance.

Telephone reservations are open seven days a week, 9am to 7pm. Booking is recommended.

Children are welcome for dinner at Zacry’s but we ask that families with children under 8 years old book a table between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.

We do not offer a dedicated children’s menu but children’s portions are served.
