Nordic walking

The latest craze to hit Watergate Bay is Nordic walking. If you want to try something new, whilst getting out in the fresh air, then this is for you.

Nordic walking was originally created by cross country skiers as a way of training in the summer months. Special walking poles are designed to propel walkers forwards resulting in a full body workout. Using 90% of your body muscles the technique strengthens your back muscles, trains your core and tones and shapes your body.

Scandinavians have been using the Nordic walking technique for years to keep fit during the summer months. It is a low impact pursuit which anyone can do yet it burns over 40% more calories compared to normal walking. It can also be a very social way to exercise.

If you can walk you can Nordic walk. And, where better to give it a try than on the beach at Watergate Bay.

Classes are for 1 hour and £8 per person.
