Electric Beach 2013

On 31st August 2013 Electric Beach Festival returns to Watergate Bay with legendary Soul II Soul headlining alongside acts such as Zion Train, Swiss Lips and Martin Harley. Thousands of sun, sea and music worshipers are expected to flock to the beach for one of ‘the best beach parties of all time’.

Listen to our Electric Beach playlists and get to know the acts playing at this year’s festival.

Soul II Soul

Soul II Soul are a household name in the UK with their notorious hits ‘Keep on Moving’ and ‘Back to Life’ topping the UK charts. Released in the summer of 1989 ‘Back to Life’ has sold over one million copies worldwide and featured in the opening ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics.

Zion Train

Purveyors of the finest Roots Reggae music, the group will be adding the vibrancy of a full acoustic band, dub mixing and quality vocals at this year’s Electric Beach.
The release of the band’s album ‘Live as One’ was awarded a coveted Jamaican Reggae Grammy for ‘Best Dub Album’.

Swiss Lips

Swiss Lips are often compared to Empire of the Sun and MGMT. Originally from Manchester the group are heavily influenced by the Manchester music scene; mixing guitars and dance music to create their new edge sound.

Hot D’Jour

The Bristol based duo are new to the music scene but are thought to be headed for great things. With upbeat, dancy tunes this will be their first appearance in Cornwall.

Martin Harley

The Martin Harley Band will be opening the festival and warming up the crown with some of his smooth, whiskey fuelled folk and blues infused tunes.

PLUS: DJ sets from 1pm, including a 90s mega mix from Debbie Deluxxe.

The After Party

Once the sun has set on the beach, the acts and the crowd will descend into Newquay’s famous Chy Bar where there will be DJ Sets plus more special treats and live performances in store.

To attend the after party you must buy a VIP after party ticket – be quick, these tickets sold out last year.
