Zacry’s is celebrating the coming of summer with this special elderflower gin-based cocktail. Watch out though, these beautiful summer flavours mask a deceptively high-alcohol count.
Elderflower drinks are the taste of British summertime in a glass – it’s light, delicate scent, reminiscent of tea parties and village fetes. Come the end of May through to June, from countryside to city gardens, elderflower should be in full bloom.
Elderflower cordial is fun and surprisingly easy to make, with plenty of recipes online if you’d like to have a go foraging and making it yourself. At Zacry’s though, we prefer an adult take.
50ml Sipsmith Gin
1 sprig of rosemary
15ml St Germain Elderflower Liquor
Muddle together the Sipsmith Gin and St Germain Elderflower Liquor with the rosemary sprig and some ice.
Strain and pour into a chilled martini or coupe glass.
Serve with the sprig of rosemary and enjoy on the decking outside.
