Any view from any coast of Cornwall is going to be beautiful, we can guarantee that. But from our recent Facebook poll these came out as the top five.
1. Looking out over Watergate Bay from Swim Club
Whether you are looking over the bay from the panoramic view that the Ocean Room offers or swimming up to the floor to ceiling windows in the pool you are going to get an impressive view of the beach and incoming surf from Swim Club.
2. Looking from the branch line over Carbis Bay
A lot of people suggested this particular view and it isn’t hard to see why. It’s only a four minute rail journey but one that should definitely be taken. It starts at St Erth on the Cornish Main Line and travels alongside the estuary of the River Hayle before reaching the Atlantic Ocean. Here, this single track line hugs the coastline taking in Lelant Saltings and the stunning beaches of Carbis Bay and Porthminster. It’s also a great way to travel to St. Ives.
3. Minack Theatre
The theatre itself is amazing to look at having been built into a gully on the extreme West coast of Cornwall, but it’s view is something else! The Minack Theatre looks out over Porthcurno beach and miles of the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a truly spectacular backdrop to any show especially as the sun starts to set and you can often spot a dolphin enjoying the performance.
4. Kynance Cove
Two miles to the north of Lizard Village lies the secluded Kynance Cove, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There’s a steep 10-15 minute walk down to the cove but that doesn’t stop visitors who head to the beach for a family day out, a romantic stroll along the sand or to photograph the moment when in the sunlight on the sea turns a brilliant turquoise colour.
5. Pendeen mining
Pendeen sets the scene of Cornwall’s tin mining history. Scattered with mining ruins and looking out across the Atlantic it’s a picturesque spot to enjoy a picnic or walk. If you are feeling particularly adventurous you could always take a trip underground and explore the mines for yourself.
