Reasons to visit Cornwall in November

Back to blog

Torch light processions, a full events calendar from Hall For Cornwall, ice-skating at The Eden Project, Cornish food festivals, fireworks nights. Things are getting festive in Cornwall this November.

Fireworks
When: Saturday 4 November from 7pm

Where: Around Watergate Bay

Not one to be missed! If you saw the display at Polo on the Beach earlier this year, you’ll be surprised to hear that this one, from the same team, is set to be even bigger.

The fireworks will go from the the hills to the south of the hotel. Venture out for the full atmosphere (and a hot chocolate), or, if you’re staying with us, watch from The Living Space terrace.

Truro City of Lights
When: Wednesday 22 November

Where: Truro city centre

For Cornish folk, the magical Truro City of Lights Festival marks the start of the festive calendar. The parade incorporates art, music, dance, lights and a procession of giant handmade withy and tissue lanterns that wind their way through the city streets. Each year is themed, 2015 being ‘The Museum of Lost Stories’ inspired by the Cornish Archives and County Records Office. The event includes the official switch on of Truro’s Christmas lights, plus music and dance from Truro School of Samba and other local bands. The city’s shops will also be open late. It all makes for the perfect atmosphere to start your Christmas shopping.

Visit their website for more information.

Ice-skating at the Eden Project
When: Until 18 February

Where: The Eden Project, Nr St Austell

There’s more to Eden than its fantastic tropical and rainforest biomes. Get your skates on at Cornwall’s only ice-skating rink. Skating sessions are 40-minutes long beginning on the hour – it’s always best to book – with penguin skating aids for younger skaters.
