The Shop on the Beach – Winter stock now in

A wise person once said that there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes. We certainly think this the case at Watergate Bay. All you need is a good coat and a woolly hat and you’re ready for the elements. And with ‘The Shop on the Beach’ – right on the edge of the sand at Watergate Bay – now stocking its winter range, there really are no excuses.

We popped in to see the team, plus Lowen and Bear (from the four-legged contingent), for a chat and to take a look at their winter warmers.

“While we love the summer on the beach – the buzz and the busy feel, the long days and watching the sunset with a beer – we love the winter just as much,” says Tina from The Shop on the Beach (pictured, right).

“It’s like the yang to summer’s yin! So much space and no sense of hurry; the perfect opportunity to take long, long walks from one end of the bay to the other, watching huge, storm-fuelled surf. Watergate Bay always has a big sense of community and this is even more so in the winter. When it gets dark at 4pm it’s a great excuse to head for the beach hut, order a hot chocolate and catch up with friends.”

“This year we’ve got some delectable outdoorsy kit from Patagonia, mixing style and high-performance wear to a T. The fleecy socks from Joules and bobble hats from Barts are also favourites, plus we have some lovely little brands that you may never have heard of.”

Here’s just a small selection to dip into…

Hi Paula, thanks for getting in touch. It sounds like you could’ve done with the raincoat on that miserable October half-term day! We passed your query on to Shop on the Beach who have got in touch with you directly. We believe it’s a Seasalt rain mac. I hope this helps.
