What’s on in February half-term?

Cornwall has plenty of family activities on offer this February, including lots of half-term specials. It may be a little chilly outside but wrap up warm and you can get out and enjoy what our county has to offer.

This is a guide for the young, and the young at heart.

Lost Gardens of Heligan, St. Austell

Sat 15 – Sun 23 Feb
Its lambing time at Heligan! And during half-term you can  meet the flock and explore the gardens.

Maritime Museum, Falmouth

Sat 15 – Sun 16 Feb
Enjoy free entry between 11am-3.30pm at the Maritime Museum and join the crustacean animation workshop and make your sea creatures come to life in film.

Sat 15 – Sun 23 Feb
Something fishy’s going on at the museum! Make fishy masks, googly eyed lobsters and paper plate fish.

Truro Cathedral, Truro

Sat 15 – Fri 21 Feb
Join in the messy table activities at Truro Cathedral, from brass rubbing, card making, trails and colouring in. Free entry.

Eden Project, nr St. Austell

Sat 15 – Fri 28 Feb
Explore the weird and wonderful world of plants. Discover the secret life of sticky, flying and ver well-travelled seeds. You’ll be able to make seed bombs, dress up as bugs, follow the seed trail and zoom in on plant and bug life.

National Trust

Cothele House, nr Callington
Tues 18 – Thurs 20 Feb
Enjoy free entry between 11am and 3.30pm. On 18 Feb partake in wild art making, 19 Feb: Bushcrafy fun, den building, light a fire, toast marshmallows (additional £5 fee), 20 Feb: make campfires and cook a feat (please bring food).

Tintagel, North Cornwall and Pendennis and St. Mawes Castles, Falmouth
Sat 15 – Sun 23 Feb
Search the historic grounds for clues to complete the half term trail and win prizes!

Newquay Zoo

During half term and Easter, Newquay Zoo will be hosting some great events – meet Colenso the giant cockroach, join in the annual pasty throwing competition and go on some wild adventures with Michaela Strachan.
