Kids assistant

We have a fantastic opportunity for kids assistants to join the team in our kids department, Watergate Bay.

Dedicated to providing quality childcare, interactive learning and memorable experiences, we are looking for highly motivated practitioners to inspire and be a part of a great team, looking after children aged between 6months and 12 years.

This is an excellent chance to join a friendly, vibrant, and dynamic team environment based within the hospitality sector. Due to the nature of hospitality, our setting operates all year round, which is reflected in the work patterns.

We are looking for candidates with previous experience of working with children, and of delivering childcare and play opportunities. Successful candidates must also possess (or be working towards) a relevant NVQ L3 (or equivalent) in the Early years and childcare sector.

What you'll be doing on a weekly basis

  • Delivering memorable play sessions for children within the Kids Zone and XA Club between the hours of 10am – 12 noon and 6.30pm-10pm on a daily basis.
  • Playing a key role in the planning and organisation of activities and resources.
  • Help with the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of our practice.
  • Ensure the security, safety and wellbeing of all children when in our care.
  • Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe.
  • Help in the serving of Early Supper and to ensure snacks are prepared and cooked appropriately and that individual needs are met within the health and hygiene guidance.
  • Be responsible for ongoing professional development and undertake training as appropriate.


What you offer

  • To have or be working towards a recognised and relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent or above in early years and childcare.
  • Willing to obtain a Paediatric 1st Aid, Basic Food Hygiene and child protection course.
  • Proven experience of delivery of childcare and play opportunities
  • Proven experience with working with children aged 6 months to 12 years of age.
  • Knowledge and understanding of The EYFS.
  • Knowledge of legislation including health and safety, equality, inclusion and safeguarding.
  • The ability to remain calm during busy, stressful periods.
  • The ability to be clear and concise when communicating with guests, children and colleagues.
