Restaurant manager –
The Living Space
We have a fantastic opportunity for a restaurant manager to join the team at The Living Space, Watergate Bay.
A wide open yet cosy place, The Living Space is a lot like the beach it overlooks. The restaurant draws on the time of year, combining flavours that are Cornish, traditional British and European. The bar serves coffees, cocktails and cream teas.
Reporting to the hotel food and beverage operations manager, you will be managing a restaurant with an excellent annual turnover. You will be a key player in a large and ever evolving food and beverage operation of £4.6 million per year. You will bring plenty of industry experience and strong leadership skills to the role and your warm and professional personality will fit perfectly with our culture of “relaxed professionalism”. As well as delivering an unrivalled dining experience, you will work closely with our executive and head chef to express our passion for food in a beachside location.

What you would be doing on a weekly basis
Working to exceed guest expectations by managing The Living Space in a relaxed but professional manner.
Working with the senior management team to develop and evolve the Living Space, taking an active role in identifying new trends and opportunities.
Managing the financial performance of The Living Space. Ensuring all revenue, payroll and overheads budgets are met.
Liaising with the food & beverage manager and Zacry’s manager to successfully deliver conferences, weddings and events.
Managing the ongoing training, development and performance management of a team of twenty. Promoting and leading a culture of continual professional development.
Overseeing all ordering and deliveries to ensure good stock control and minimal wastage.
Ensuring a safe environment for both staff and guests and adhering to the company’s health and safety policy and procedures.
What you offer
3 years restaurant/bar experience
Previous management experience within a high volume, fast paced restaurant and bar/cocktail bar
Previous experience of managing a large team
Knowledge of HR procedures (preferred)
A good knowledge of customer care/complaint handling
Budgetary/ costing experience
Experienced in cash handling
Experience of running events – including civil wedding ceremonies, conferences and private dining
