Restaurant manager –
The Living Space
We have a fantastic opportunity for a restaurant manager to join the team at the living space, Watergate Bay.
Wide open yet cosy place, The Living Space is a lot like the beach it overlooks. The restaurant draws on the time of year, combining flavours that are Cornish, traditional British and European. The bar serves coffees, cocktails and cream teas.
We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills and experience of successfully running a strong floor team. You must be comfortable managing and developing a large team in order to build on our already high standards. Successful candidates must have experience in a similar role with the confidence and ability to assist with rota planning, and to exceed guest expectations. Attention to detail is imperative, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure. You must also be flexible, a team player, well presented, and an excellent communicator. The role will also require you to assist with: ordering stock, developing staff through continuous training and the implementation of new ideas – staying ‘on trend’. A strong knowledge of wines and spirits would also be advantageous.

What you would be doing on a weekly basis
Managing the front house team to ensure the continued smooth running of the living space.
Working with the F&B operations manager and head chef to improve all aspects of our food service.
Working with the senior management team to develop and evolve the Living Space offer further by taking an active role in identifying new trends and opportunities within brand guidelines
Ongoing training, development and performance management of a team of twenty.
Handling guest complaints, requests and enquiries in a relaxed yet professional manner.
Helping to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests and adhering to the company’s health and safety policy and procedures.
3 years restaurant/bar experience
Previous management experience within a high volume, fast paced restaurant and bar/cocktail bar
Previous experience of managing a large team
Knowledge of HR procedures (preferred)
A good knowledge of customer care/complaint handling
Budgetary/ costing experience
Experienced in cash handling
Experience of running events – including civil wedding ceremonies, conferences and private dining
