8- 14 July: ENCHANTED FORESTS

For Toddlers and Kids:

  • Cornish fairytales, folklore and mythical creatures – discover secret traditions and tales of giants, mermaids, Bucca, piskies or the ‘pobel vean’
  • Creating own stories and fairytales - Write, cast, stage, and direct your story.
  • Potions, Wands & spells – Make a wand, create your potion book and cast spells.
  • Fauna, Flora and Funga – discover herbal medicines, what they can be used for and ones you definitely shouldn’t eat!

For XA Club:

  • Potions – looking at scientific components, bubbling / smoking / chemical reactions
  • Sustainability minded activities – protecting their forest playgrounds  
  • DT Challenge – from tiny houses to those fit for a troll.
  • Crafts - Fairies / goblins / mythical creatures – clay / salt dough

  • Island adventures and shipwrecks – Island hop through maps and discover a world of different treasures. 
  • Sealife – discover some of our oldest marine friends and how they’ve had to adapt over time.
  • Sea shanties – find your ship, appoint your ‘first mate’ and set sail on a musical adventure.

For XA Club:

  • Pirate treasure jewellery workshops, sea glass and precious shells.
  • Beach walks – collecting items to create art etc.
  • D&T – Raft building and races on the beach
  • Sea shanty workshop – rapping and creating instruments from scrap

Discovery Beach School

From firepit cookery and bushcraft to imagination and storytelling, learn the art of whittling, practical conservation behaviour and survival skills. Our forest school-inspired beach pop-up sessions build confidence and social skills in Watergate Bay’s coastal environment. in partnership with Land Rover Discovery

One free session for guests, £40 for additional sessions and non-residents.

Join beach guardian on a beach clean, learn about microplastics and create fish tails using ghost rope.

Surfing lessons and hire

  • Beginner lessons, learn how to pop up to your feet, available for ages 7 years and older.
