Booking agreement and cancellation liability
We promise never to over book our accommodation; once your deposit has been paid we guarantee the room for you.
Cancellations will only be accepted in writing. All deposits are non-refundable. For cancellations within 28 days of arrival, if we are unable to re-let the room(s), a 75% charge of your total booking will apply.
Refunds cannot be made for rooms that are not occupied for the full period that has been booked.
We recommend that you purchase cancellation insurance from a reputable service provider as we do not provide cancellation insurance ourselves.
If, due to exceptional circumstances, we are forced to cancel your stay, we will refund your deposit in full and make every effort to find you alternative accommodation; however, we cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred by you as a result.
If, due to exceptional circumstances, we are forced to cut short your stay, we will reimburse you in full for nights not taken and make every effort to find you alternative accommodation. We cannot be held responsible for any further costs incurred by you as a result.
We cannot promise specific rooms but we will do our best to accommodate a request.
Discounted rates and special offers are subject to availability. Your room rate will be confirmed at the time of booking; we regret that we cannot change the rate or terms of your stay once a booking has been confirmed.
A deposit of 20% of the value of your holiday is required to confirm every booking. The deposit will be credited against your final account. Settlement of your account will be required on arrival. Accounts can be settled in cash or by MasterCard or Visa. We do not accept cheques on arrival without prior agreement.
VAT is included at the current rate but these prices are subject to change if VAT rises above 20%. The effective rate of VAT is determined by the rate at the time you make a payment to us. If VAT rises after you have made a deposit payment on your stay, the balance of your charge will be increased to reflect the increase in the rate of VAT, if that rate is above 20%.
On occasion, Watergate Bay Hotel hosts weddings and events that may result in some public areas being temporarily unavailable. In such circumstances we will always make every effort to provide alternative facilities; however, we cannot offer refunds in the event of any facilities or services being temporarily withdrawn.
Maintenance & improvements
As the hotel is open all year round, you may find that there is necessary maintenance, development or refurbishment work taking place during your visit. We will endeavour to keep any noise and inconvenience to a minimum. Any such work happening during your stay does not constitute a reason for cancellation and standard cancellation terms will apply.
Free parking is provided for one car per room. Registration details will be taken at check in. All cars are parked at owners’ risk.
Dogs are welcome at Watergate Bay Hotel in specified rooms and the Village family apartments with a maximum of two dogs per room, on the understanding that they are kept on a lead, are not a nuisance to other guests and that owners clean up after their dogs on the hotel grounds and the beach.
Dogs are charged at £15 per night for the first dog and £5 per night for a second dog. Dogs can stay in Ocean Wing and Coach House rooms with a maximum of two dogs per room. We do not provide dog food.
Guests with dogs will be given a copy of our dog owner’s protocol on arrival. If you require a copy in advance, please contact us. Dog food is not provided.
Inclusive dinner, bed & breakfast terms
B&B – Bed and breakfast in Zacry’s.
Dinner inclusive – Dinner inclusive with a three-course dinner and breakfast in Zacry’s.
Guests staying on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis will be dining in Zacry’s; inclusive terms cannot be transferred to any other dining venue. We cannot offer discounts or refunds for meals not taken. Some menu items carry supplementary charges. Opening times vary according to time of year.
Food and drink
With the exception of baby foods, only food and drink that is purchased on the premises may be consumed on the premises.
Arrival and departure
Guests may arrive early and are welcome to use the hotel’s facilities, but check-in is not until 3pm. On your day of departure, please vacate your room by 11.30am. Departing guests are welcome to use the facilities on their day of departure.
Smoking is only permitted on The Living Space deck.
Any damage caused by any individual using the facilities of Watergate Bay Hotel will be charged to that individual in full.
Babies under 3 years old (sleeping in a cot) stay free of charge.
Children are 3-12 years, adults are 13+ years.
Children 3 years and over sharing their parents’ room are charged 25% of the room rate.
Interconnecting rooms are charged at full rate for two people sharing, additional children/ adults sharing these rooms will be charged as above.
All children will be booked onto the same accommodation terms as their parent(s) or guardian(s) when sharing the same room.
Babysitting can be booked in advance for children of all ages and will be charged to your account. A minimum charge of £24 applies for bookings up to two hours, and £12 per hour thereafter. For same day cancellations the minimum charge will apply.
A baby monitoring service is available (except in the Village Family Suites); this service in no way allows parents to relinquish responsibility for their children. While using this service parents must monitor their children at all times. Watergate Bay Hotel cannot be held responsible for any failures of the baby monitoring equipment.
Children’s supervised sessions are closed sessions when no one other than our fully qualified assistants are allowed access to our Kids’ Zone. This session must be booked daily as numbers are limited.
Supervised sessions are available throughout the year for children between the ages of three and seven only. For children aged six months to two years, morning sessions are available, except during school holidays. For children aged eight to twelve, sessions are available on Fridays, Saturdays and during school holidays. Outside of closed sessions, our Kids’ Zone is open to all children when accompanied by a parent(s) or guardian(s).
Additional adults and single occupancy
All prices are per room per night based on two people sharing, except for family suites which are per room per night based on up to five people sharing, and an extra cot.
An additional 25% of the room rate is charged for a third person in a double room.
There is a 25% discount for single occupancy of a double room.
Treatment booking terms
Please arrive 15 mins prior to your appointment.
The products used are dermatologically tested and do not contain parabens.
Treatments are available for ages 16+. Hands and feet treatments are available for under 16’s with adult supervision.
A tint test is required 24 hours prior to any eyelash or brow tint treatment.
Fitness classes are available for ages 18+.
Full payment for all treatments must be received at the time of booking.
A 50% charge will apply to appointments cancelled within 48 hours.
All treatments are subject to availability.
Full payment for all Extreme Academy sports must be received at the time of booking.
No booking will be treated as confirmed unless payment has been received in advance.
You will be required to complete a safety form before you take part in a lesson.
The Extreme Academy cannot guarantee that any activity will take place.
The Extreme Academy reserves the right to cancel the course due to unsuitable conditions or lack of numbers.
The Extreme Academy reserves the right to end the lesson should the conditions become unfavourable or due to the students behaviour or ability.
The decision to cancel the course due to unsuitable conditions rests solely with the instructor of the course.
It is the responsibility of the school to re-book transfer or refund the customer in the event of cancellation.
In the event of a lesson or booking being cancelled by the Extreme Academy the customer may:
1. Re-book the lesson for a later date.
2. Transfer to another course at the Extreme Academy, paying the difference if of a higher value and receiving a refund if of a lower value.
3. Obtain a full refund.
In the event of cancellation by the customer:
A lesson may be rescheduled up to 7 days in advance subject to weather conditions and instructor availability.
A lesson may be cancelled up to 7 days in advance of the course date and a refund obtained for which there is a per head cancellation fee of the greater of £5 or 10% of the lesson value. No refund will be given for lessons cancelled within 7 days of the lesson date/time.
Age restrictions apply to all sports. You must be 8 or over to surf, 18 or over to kitesurf, stand-up paddlesurf and waveski and 12 or over for all other sports. Participation is at the absolute discretion of the instructor.
Students aged 17 or under will need a parent or guardian 18 or over to sign a safety form to allow them to surf or participate in land kiting. A parent or guardian must remain in attendance for the duration of the lesson.
The weather conditions may not always be appropriate for your chosen lesson. If this is the case, we will offer you an alternative lesson in one of our other sports or we will reschedule your lesson to another time.
We supply all of the equipment for your activity.
For all sports: remember to bring sunglasses, sun cream and a hat even if it’s not sunny!
For water-based sports: you just need a pair of trunks or a swimsuit. For after bring a towel and some warm clothes.
For land based sports: you need trainers or boots with ankle support and suitable clothing for the weather conditions. A change of clothes in case it rains and a wind cheater is also a good idea.
For kitesurfing: If you’ve got your own suit, boots and harness bring them, if not, we’ll supply them. For cooler days bring a warm change of clothes and a woolly hat. As you’ll be getting wet, don’t forget your towel.
The Living Space bar is an ideal location for a pre or post-dinner drink. It has a large deck over-looking Watergate Bay beach and has a well-crafted cocktail list.
Open seven days a week for dinner – 6:30pm to 9:30pm, Zacry’s is closed for lunch but both the Living Space and The Beach Hut are open.
Zacry’s serves a two course menu for £34 or a three course menu for £40.
Children are welcome, but we ask that families with children under 8 years book a table between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. We serve children’s portions and we are able to simplify dishes on request.
Please let us know in advance if your party has any dietary requirements or food allergies and we will do all we can to accommodate them.
Larger parties (8+)
If you are booking a group of 8 or more we will need payment card details to secure your reservation, but don’t worry we won’t take payment at the time of booking. If you don’t arrive for your reservation there will be a no-show fee of £10 per person charged to your card.

The restaurant is fully accessible via the hotel’s main entrance.
There is plenty of parking in the bay. We recommend you use the pay-and-display beach car park.
Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 9am to 9pm (last table booking). Tables can be booked for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we also have some tables on the deck on a walk-in basis.
Children are very welcome at The Beach Hut and we have a separate children’s menu. Please include children in highchairs in your party number.
There are vegetarian options on the menu and we have a separate gluten-free menu. Please let us know in advance of any dietary requirements or food allergies which we will try our best to accommodate .

The restaurant and bathroom facilities are fully accessible.

Reproductions or photocopies of gift cards cannot be accepted
Failure to attend a booked facility or confirmed appointment will result in this gift card becoming void
Once purchased, gift cards cannot be used as a promotional vehicle for any company other than Watergate Bay Hotel. This includes competitions and auctions.
