Colours of Watergate
Inspired by G.F Smith's search for the world's favourite colour and Maia Walczak's wonder at the natural world, we invited Falmouth-based photographer Rhona McDade to capture the colours of the rainbow through a distinctly Watergate Bay lens.
I’m always on the look-out for significant colours that tie people with places, objects and memories
"With so much ocean surrounding the hotel, I was expecting blue to be a very dominant colour. But it was a bright and embracing yellow that really struck me. Yellow tied the surrounding landscape and interior together in beautiful and unexpected ways. The gorse bushes, yellow throws and cushions, crisp white bed linen, turquoise water, sun and sand all sang in harmony.”
